Movie Review
“A group of elites gather for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt ordinary Americans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of The Hunted, Crystal (Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off one by one as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (Hilary Swank) at the center of it all.”
The Hunt from Craig Zobel is another ‘where are we, what is happening’ genre movie that hits all of its marks. From gore gags to genuine surprise moments the script keeps you on your toes.
Betty Gilpin is a fantastic lead that completely carries the movie, without her we would have had another unnecessary gore fest, but her character brings a genuine freshness to the generic ‘survivor’ lead role.
A definite watch for fans of the genre defining Battle Royale, and anyone who enjoys a slice of dystopia. Expect to be telling the actors what ‘you would have done’ throughout.
